Description:
Mrs. Bhagwati Shrestha's residence is in Gatthaghar Bhaktapur. Residential architecture is the resident typology. The plant area is 1663 square feet, and the built-up area is 6033 square feet. The project began in October 2018 and ended in November 2019.
Client Concept
Gatthaghar is a luxurious design approach with premium family space designs. The client requested an attached walk-in closet and bathroom for six bedrooms. The client wanted two more bedrooms, one for guests and one for housekeeping. On each floor, they desired a family room as well as a recreational space. They also wanted a drawing room for formal visitors, a bar, a gym, a sauna, and a party space on the terrace.
Designer Approach
The challenge was that, even though the vertical composition was tall, it had to be designed in such a way that it did not appear so and the Vaastu approach should be considered on almost everything.
Floor Plan and Amenities
Taking all of this into consideration, a design concept was created with a green terrace above the car parking where more plants could be planted as needed. Night oil was created for the toilet, bathroom, and walking area to allow sunlight and daylight to pass through. As the client requested, balconies were designed in every room.
Building Exterior
Because the area had roads on both the west and south sides, the structure was designed to corner to the east. We chose an "L" shape design because the building concept required irregular shapes. Outside the building, a minimal landscape with a fountain and parking space was expected. To meet the demand, the building had to be a high-rise, multi-historical structure.
