Description:

Gandaki University Complex

The Gandaki University Complex is strategically located in Ward No. 32 of Pokhara Metropolitan City, within the Kaski District of Nepal, approximately 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. The campus is spread across two distinct land parcels—Site-1 and Site-2—providing ample space for phased institutional development.

  • Site-1 spans 93,977 square meters and features three distinct split-level terrains, offering unique opportunities for academic zoning, landscape design, and vertical spatial organization.

  • Site-2, covering 54,600 square meters, is relatively flat but includes a notable gorge along its eastern edge, presenting both a natural boundary and a potential landscape feature.

The region experiences a warm, temperate climate with an average annual temperature of 18.3°C and significant average rainfall of 4,151 mm, making it conducive to year-round academic activities, outdoor learning spaces, and landscape-integrated design.

Both sites are currently forested, providing a green and serene environment ideal for an academic campus. Access to the area is available via a blacktopped road, ensuring connectivity to the city and surrounding areas. A topographical survey using Total Station technology has been conducted to accurately capture the physical features, elevation profiles, and boundary conditions of the land, which will guide the planning and architectural interventions.

The Gandaki University Complex is envisioned to harmoniously integrate academic infrastructure, natural landscapes, and cultural context, setting a benchmark for institutional campuses in Nepal.
